The Donegal Women in Business Network proudly marked its 25th anniversary at a gala event in Lough Eske Castle, back in September. The event was a celebration of the dynamic community the network has grown to become, supporting women at every stage of their business development from start-up to expansion and everything in-between.
The anniversary event brought together over 220 women from across Donegal. They were joined by some of Ireland’s most influential businesswomen, including keynote speaker, fashion designer, and television presenter, Sonya Lennon, and Newstalk broadcaster, Andrea Gilligan, who hosted proceedings.
We are proud members of the DWIBN committee for some years now and helped to oversee the event management and the development of a new logo for the network to mark the 25th milestone.
Through its considered design, the new logo reflects our dynamic, and exciting network. What might first appear as simple, clean lines in vibrant, fresh colours is, in fact, a visual representation of our journey as women navigating unique career paths. Each line in the design represents a different path, career, and story, moving independently to symbolise the individuality of our journeys. Yet, these lines intersect at various points and stages, reflecting the natural connections and shared moments that occur in our lives and careers.
Like these intersecting lines, the Donegal Women in Business Network serves as a place where we meet, connect, and support one another. It is in these intersections that we guide, inspire, and uplift each other, whether through advice, shared knowledge, or simply as a source of strength. These connections are not random; they are intentional, and they embody the power of community.
The design also reflects the principle of ‘lifting as we climb.’ While each of us follows our own path, we do not journey alone. As we progress in our careers, we bring others along, offering guidance and support. The lines, though distinct, cross and merge to create something more powerful together, mirroring the impact of our shared efforts.
Designed by Fiona O’Reilly of On the Dot creative, (who also created the original logo), the new logo is more than just a visual identity. It’s a celebration of our individual strength and collective power over the past 25 years and a reminder that as we move forward on our journeys, we’re never truly alone. We intersect, we connect, and together, we thrive.
We finished off a great event with a sea swim with Sonya Lennon the following morning.
